One may think that using a clear mascara may seem to contradict what mascara’s are normally used for. After all, when you talk about mascaras, it means darkening the lashes so that the lashes would be more visible. Ironically, applying a clear mascara can actually help in making the lashes appear to be darker. It can also accentuate the lashes a bit.
In order to have a more natural look when using other cosmetics, some people use clear mascara instead of a tinted mascara. This can happen when the mascara is combined with a very lightly tinted facial powder, blush, eye shadow and any brown-colored eye pencil. There are other uses and benefits when it comes to using a clear mascara. It should be noted though, that achieving a natural look is possible if proper application of the mascara is followed.

For instance, you can apply a darker mascara on the upper lashes and use a clear mascara on the bottom.
Applying a clear mascara is basically the same as applying any other type of mascara. But for the purpose of this article, here are some tips you can follow when it comes to properly applying a clear mascara. Start by choosing the best clear mascara which you can purchase at any drug store and cosmetic shop. Once you have it, start by holding the mascara wand in your hand and brush it along the clear eyelashes with an outward motion.

The right way to apply any type of mascara would be to start from the roots of your lashes, slowly working your way towards the tips. Delicately swipe the mascara wand on your lashes with a little jiggle so that the lumps do not form during application. Also, if you wish to avoid any clumps on your lashes, wipe of excess mascara from the wand before applying on the lashes. It is also important to keep the eyes open when applying any type of mascaras like a clear mascara while waiting for the first coat to dry.
This prevents the mascara from smearing. Once the mascara dries, you can now apply a second swipe of the mascara to get a full effect. Make sure to only apply a thin coating this time since you do not want to make your lashes look heavy and fake. Once the upper lashes is done, you can now proceed using a clear mascara on the lower lashes. Some avoid applying mascara on the lower part to avoid having a doll-like look. Nonetheless, make sure to brush only an appropriate amount of clear mascara on the lower lashes at the outer corner of the eyes.
